Academic

At English National Ballet School, students continue to develop their academic and intellectual skills to help meet the demands of the ever-changing dance profession. The academic course includes dance history, anatomy for dancers, nutrition, performance psychology, choreography, Benesh notation, dance on screen, and working on a professional development portfolio.

Students are entered for Trinity College London’s Diploma in Professional Dance (Level 5 or 6). Following graduation, our students can extend their Diploma into a Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Practice, Arts and Creative Industries by undertaking an eighteen-month distance learning course at Middlesex University.

As an international community, we welcome all students with English as an additional language and the rich and varied experiences they bring to our programme. We understand the transition to life in the UK can be challenging. We support all EAL students to improve their understanding and communication with weekly English classes at two levels with materials specifically selected to be relevant to the course both in the studio and classroom. Students who wish to improve their SELT score, are supported in specific sessions dedicated to this examination.
